Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT)

Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) — Buddy’s Vets

WANTED: Certified Veterinary Technician
This is an advanced role demanding deep technical skill, clinical judgment, and independence across Buddy’s Vets.

If you just skimmed that and thought “yep, sounds fine,” please don’t apply. That was the most boring intro ever—and we are not looking for boring.

Yes, we’re hiring a CVT. What we’re really hiring is the right personality fit.

  • Can you break into song when the moment strikes?

  • Laugh until you cry?

  • Communicate with your team like a pro (text, Snaps, group chats… we’re digitally fluent)?

  • Take a power nap with a recovering surgery patient?

  • Get weirdly excited about pus, maggots, and all things gloriously gross?

  • How’s your aim? We have the occasional Nerf war.

If you’re nodding yes (and your venipuncture hand is already itching), send us a VIDEO résumé telling us why you’re an amazing fit—then attach a print résumé so we can double-check the facts: tim@buddysvets.com.

What you’ll do (aka “the fun stuff”)

  • Use your license: blood draws, IV catheters, anesthesia monitoring, dental prophy/rads, positioning & taking diagnostic radiographs, med calculations/dosing.

  • Own patient care: triage, hospitalized case nursing, pain scoring, discharge education.

  • Run real diagnostics: IDEXX in-house labs, urinalysis, cytology preps, fecals/ear swabs.

  • Be tech-forward: document in ezyVet, leverage digital tools, streamline workflows.

  • Educate clients: clear, kind guidance that actually helps pets live better.

What makes Buddy’s Vets different

  • Techs do tech jobs; doctors do doctor jobs. You’ll utilize your training every day.

  • Professional coaching & leadership development (yep, real coaching—grow here).

  • CE support & skill ladders with pay tied to competencies.

  • Modern tools: IDEXX in-house, digital radiography, ultrasound, forward-booking culture.

  • Culture: collaborative, a little goofy, a lot accountable. We work hard and have fun.

What you bring

  • Wisconsin CVT license (or eligible) and an associate degree or higher.

  • Proven clinical chops and calmness at a fast pace.

  • Curiosity, initiative, and a love for people and their pets.

How to apply:
Email tim@buddysvets.com with a VIDEO résumé + your print résumé. Subject line: “CVT — I Do Tech Things.”

Veterinary Tech Assistant — Buddy’s Vets

WANTED: Tech Assistant with hustle, heart, and great Nerf aim.
We’re adding a Tech Assistant who thrives in a busy, fun, tech-heavy clinic where techs do tech jobs and doctors do doctor jobs—and assistants keep the engine humming.

Do you…

  • Love learning new clinical skills and supporting a high-performing team?

  • Communicate fast and clearly (group chats, shared boards, ezyVet tasks)?

  • Think cleaning a surgery suite until it sparkles is weirdly satisfying?

  • Offer to hold the puppy and the towel warmer?

  • Laugh loudly, move quickly, and show up for your people?

If yes, make us a quick VIDEO résumé sharing why you’re our person—plus include a print résumé: tim@buddysvets.com.

Day-to-day (you’ll never be bored)

  • Patient handling/comfort, fear-free assists, safe restraint.

  • Room setup/turnover, surgery & dentistry support (non-sterile assists).

  • Sample runs, stocking, laundry, equipment wipe-downs & sterilization cycles.

  • Accurate notes & tasking in ezyVet; help the team move as one.

  • Client hellos, goodbye hugs, and everything in between.

Growth & Perks

  • Professional coaching & career ladders (we invest in people).

  • Hands-on training with CVTs and DVMs; clear skill milestones with raises.

  • Tech-forward workflow: digital forms, templates, checklists, and SOPs that keep you sharp.

  • A team that celebrates wins (and occasionally declares Nerf ceasefires).

What you bring

  • Reliable, coachable, upbeat.

  • Comfort with pets of all sizes and all the messy, wonderful realities of vet med.

  • Strong communication and stamina in a fast pace.

  • Experience in a clinic is great—but attitude and learnability win.

How to apply:
Email tim@buddysvets.com with a VIDEO résumé + your print résumé. Subject line: “Tech Assistant — Put Me In.”
