Veterinarian

Dr. Sara

Dr. Sara Burk grew up in Two Rivers, Wisconsin. She earned her undergraduate degree from UW–Stevens Point before attending the University of Wisconsin–Madison School of Veterinary Medicine. After practicing in Appleton, she now lives in Menominee, Michigan with her husband, Sam, their two dogs, Jesse and Bond, and a lively flock that includes sheep and pygmy goats.

Dr. Sara is grounded in honesty, integrity, and high moral character. She takes pride in practicing high-quality medicine while building meaningful relationships with clients and serving the community. From the moment she connected with Buddy’s Vets, she was drawn to the positive energy of the team and the genuine care shared between coworkers and clients alike.

She brings a calm, patient, and persistent approach to her work. Dr. Sara is flexible, a creative problem solver, and someone who works well with all types of people. Her compassion is her superpower. She has a natural ability to connect deeply with both pets and their people, making them feel seen, heard, and cared for in every interaction. And in a fun twist, she also has the rare ability to fall asleep just about anywhere, a skill that keeps her grounded and recharged for whatever the day brings.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Sara enjoys camping, hiking to waterfalls, gardening, baking, reading, and spending time outdoors. Sunshine, plants, and animals are some of her favorite things. She values taking care of herself by surrounding herself with positive energy, staying active, and making time for rest and the outdoors.
